The Roots of The Medicine Tree

I was always interested in medicine ever since I was a teenager.  I was diagnosed with Chronic Migraines around 12 years old.  I was given over 8 different prescriptions, mostly pain killers, to take when I had a flare up.

These pills helped with the pain, but as I laid in bed for days fading in and out of consciousness - surviving on saltine crackers and a little water, I found myself missing too much school.

One day in college, I was told to meet with my Organic Chemistry teacher after class. She was frustrated with me missing class. She asked me how I expected to "make it in the real world if I can only show up half of the time?". This question was basic, but it triggered me to take a look at my life.

I knew there must be a better way of life, a healthier more joyful life. It was then that I realized the 'help' I was receiving was only treating the symptoms and not the root of the cause.

I received acupuncture for my first time at a practice in Savannah, Georgia. This was the moment I turned to Eastern Medicine.

It only took one treatment for me to be completely enamored with the results of my acupuncture.

The needles didn't hurt, I felt some strange sensations in my body, and then I fell asleep on the table (up to this point napping was NOT something I was able to do, my body was NEVER able to relax enough to do so).   I woke up 30 minutes later, walked out of there, and was pretty sure my life was going to be different from this point on.

Colors were brighter, I felt like I could hear everything clearly, I literally felt like I was floating, weightless and I couldn't stop smiling!

From there, I researched tons of acupuncture schools. I didn't even know there was so many different types of acupuncture!  I chose to go to a Five Element school and I enrolled in both the acupuncture program and the herbal program.

As it turned out, my migraines were triggered by stress, fatigue, poor eating habits and hormone fluctuations.  After a few months of Acupuncture and Herbal blends, I stopped having migraines altogether!

Yeah, you're reading that right.  THEY STOPPED.

My body was able to handle the stress better, I was sleeping better, my digestion was better, therefore I ate regularly, and my hormones were smoothing out.

This was the true beginning of The Medicine Tree. I wanted to share my newfound knowledge with others! I wanted other people to experience the absolute relief that I felt when all my pain went away.

It has been a gift to witness first hand the amazing power of the medicine through the healing of my patients.

Clients with chronic pain, fertility issues, depression and anxiety and so much more are finding relief and finding their best selves.

I am passionate about this medicine.  I have seen too much to not be and I feel like it is my personal duty to spread the awareness of the power that lies within Eastern Medicine.
