Dr. Liz Roper L.Ac DACM

Dr. Liz Roper L.Ac DACM - Founder of The Medicine Tree

Hello, I’m Dr. Liz Roper, and I’m passionate about holistic healthcare at The Medicine Tree. My journey into natural health and wellbeing began with a fascination for the intricate workings of the human body, rooted in my background in Organic Chemistry with a pre-med focus.

Driven by a desire to enhance modern healthcare practices, I delved into Classical Chinese Medicine. My pursuit of knowledge led me to the esteemed Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL, where I completed an intensive graduate program and earned my Masters of Science in Acupuncture. Additionally, I became certified in Chinese Herbology to further broaden my holistic healing expertise.

Committed to excellence in patient care, I achieved national certification as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by the NCCAOM and continue my commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

In April 2020, I furthered my dedication to patient care by earning a Doctorate in Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Science. This advanced degree allows me to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to healing.

Continuing my passion for learning, I am actively pursuing studies in Functional Medicine to integrate the latest research and approaches into our patient care at The Medicine Tree. Functional Medicine complements my holistic philosophy by focusing on the root causes of illness and addressing the whole person’s health.

Originally from the outskirts of Pittsburgh, PA, my family and I now call Golden, CO our home. After exploring various regions, I found my heart's home in Colorado in 2014. Outside of work, I find joy in learning, skiing, golfing, and enjoying live music performances. Painting is my creative outlet and source of relaxation, but my greatest happiness comes from spending quality time with loved ones, exploring the outdoors, and serving my community.

With a deep understanding of holistic health, a compassionate approach, and a commitment to each patient’s wellbeing, I am dedicated to empowering individuals on their journey to optimal health and balanced living.

IV Nurse & Medical Assistant

Laura

Meet Laura, our incredible patient care coordinator and IV nurse. Prior to dedicating over twenty years to raising her children, Laura served in the Air Force and then pursued a career as a Registered Nurse. Her favorite aspect of nursing was the personal connections she made with her patients, a passion she continues to cherish at The Medicine Tree. She delights in getting to know their clients and is always available for a chat.

Outside of work, Laura treasures time with her family, enjoying nature and traveling whenever possible. Her daily walks with her dogs and regular barre and yoga classes are essential for her well-being. She's also a devoted caregiver to a lively bunch of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. Laura's goats even join her on neighborhood walks, drawing plenty of smiles and curious looks from passers-by. Her life may be filled with surprises and unplanned adventures, but Laura embraces each moment with enthusiasm and a sense of wonder.

Therapy Dog, Pro-Snuggler

Tito

Tito is Dr. Roper's Golden Retriever. He loves running in the snow, chewing on all his toys and most of all pets.  Tito comes to the office ready to be pet and give all his snuggles on a daily basis. No amount of petting is too much. He also enjoys treats and chasing squirrels. He lives in Golden with his human family and his dog brother Larry the Leonberger.
