Trigger Point Injections

A trigger point is the painful area in the muscle that feels like a "knot".  Our trigger point injections not only force that muscle to release but also hydrates the damaged and dry tissue by injecting saline and sometimes a mix of certain vitamins to help heal the area.  This provides a long lasting relief and helps in the prevention of recurrence.

This is taking trigger point needling (aka Dry Needling) to a whole new level.

ATP Resonance Biotherapy ™

ATP Resonance BioTherapy™ is a non-invasive and painless technique for treating pain by using low-level electrical currents. ATP's various frequencies can be used to potentially reduce inflammation (swelling), repair tissue, and reduce pain.

Frequencies have a direct effect on our bodies and can almost instantaneously change the chemistry.  For example, there are frequencies clinically proven to reduce inflammation and others that improve circulation. It is like writing a computer program for our bodies to heal.  There are 100's of frequencies that we can use to reduce inflammation and pain.

Electrical Stimulation Acupuncture

Electrical Acupuncture is an add-on to acupuncture to amplify the effects of the treatment.  Clips are added to the needles and different frequencies and wavelengths are pulsed in order to achieve the desirable effect.  Some currents are used to targeted issues like muscle strains, tissue repair, ligament or tendon damage.  Other currents may be used for issues like improving circulation or eliminating pain.  There are even settings to encourage the release of dopamine, release stem cells, or encourage antioxidant properties.  â€‹

cupping at the medicine tree

Cupping

Cupping therapy is a great way to improve circulation of blood and oxygen.  The cups provide a suction strong enough to pull old blood cells and sediments to the surface so that fresh oxygenated blood flow can replenish and nourish the area alleviating pain and tension and quickly healing any injuries.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is done by using a scraping tool commonly made of Jade stone.  This is used to scrape the skin to alleviate pain and diminish scar tissue.  The scraping creates a therapeutic petechiae called ‘sha’ representing extravasation of blood in the subcutis.

moxibustion at the medicine tree

Moxibustion

Moxibustion (Moxa) is a traditional heat therapy which consists of burning dried Artemesian Mugwort on particular points on the body in order to warm the point.  This activates the point and increases circulation in the area.  This herb plays an important role in the traditional medical systems of China (including Tibet), Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Mongolia.

Mugwort is usually aged in the sun and ground up to a fluff; practitioners roll the herb into cones and place them either directly on the skin, on a ginger slice on the skin, or even suspended on a needle to warm the needle itself.  It also can be processed further into a cigar-shaped stick that can be hovered close to the body to activate the blood and increase circulation.  This is particularly great for increasing fertility or healing an injury.

Here at the medicine tree, our practitioner will suggest this treatment as needed to help fight pain and other ailments.
