How to Prepare for Your First Appointment
Give us a call or email us to book your consultation. Once this is done, you will receive a confirmation email.

-
24 hours prior to your appointment you will need to fill out your health forms. You can find these by clicking "manage appointment" button. Please take your time with these and be as thorough as you can. This helps us to understand your case so we can give you our best recommendation.
It is important that you eat something prior to your appointment and avoid caffeine, alcohol and yogurt (or anything that colors the tongue).

-
We will discuss the frequency, duration, pricing and strategy during your consultation.

-
Please wear loose clothing or bring a change of clothes with you. It is important to be able to access acupuncture points all over the body. If this is difficult there will be a sheet drape available.

-
Please refrain from heavy makeup and heavy perfumes. Some patients are sensitive to smells and it could interfere with clarity in diagnosis.

-
Do not schedule anything strenuous after your appointment and refrain from drinking alcohol after your appointment.

-
Please finish any emails, texts, and phone calls prior to your appointment and turn your phone off during session. This is a time for you to heal and disconnect from the busy world around us.

What to Expect
After you decide to start your individualized program and commit to your health goals, you can get started immediately!
We will get you scheduled out in advance and you will receive your first acupuncture session right after the consult if we have space available.

Your appointments are around 20-45 minutes in length.
Wear loose clothing! Sometimes we need to access your belly, knees, elbows or back etc. We have sheets for draping if you need them. This is your time to close your eyes, de-stress and be taken care of.

When you arrive we will take you to your room so you can begin to relax. Dr. Roper and her assistant will arrive and check in with you. She will take pulses and place several acupuncture needles. You will be given a pager so you can reach us at anytime during your session. You will lay quietly for about 20 minutes.
Her assistant will come in to remove needles. Then you will get dressed and head out to the waiting room if you need to check in. If you are all scheduled out and paid up you can go ahead and head out.
Depending on Dr. Roper's treatment strategy you may have different forms of treatment such as E-stim, ATP Resonance Biotherapy, Ozone etc. Acupuncture will sometimes not be done with ATP Resonance Biotherapy due to the power of the treatment alone.
