Who We Help

Fertility

women's health fertility

Acupuncture has been proven to treat infertility in both women and men, or even those simply seeking to optimize their reproductive health and wellness before conceiving. Many fertility doctors and reproductive endocrinologists actually suggest acupuncture to their patients before they even start the process, as acupuncture has long-proven success in improving IVF outcomes.

Having a baby is a process that is not always linear.

For those who have experienced infertility and/or acute or recurrent pregnancy loss, acupuncture can help patients manage the physical, mental, and spiritual effects these surprisingly common conditions so often cause. One in four women suffer PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) many months after experiencing pregnancy loss.

Acupuncture and herbs help with fertility by:

  • reducing stress and anxiety

  • regulating the menstrual cycle and hormones that support conception

  • targeting increased blood flow to both the ovaries and uterus

  • supporting optimal nourishment of endometrial lining in the uterus for IVF patients

  • increasing sperm count

  • improving sperm motility and morphology

  • stabilizing mood

  • stimulating release of calming neurotransmitters in the brain such as serotonin and dopamine, the latter of which is studied here for its role in anti-inflammatory response.

Studies show that acupuncture combined with IVF therapies increases chances of success,  especially when acupuncture is administered at specific intervals during an IVF cycle, such as in the months and days leading up to, the day of, and the weeks following embryo transfer.

Patient Stories

"Having always been interested in Chinese medicine but unsure of how to go about learning more, it was a refreshing surprise to find Dr. Roper’s clinic right on the main drag in Golden. She is obviously a knowledgeable and motivated woman to own and run her own practice, but it was her open enthusiasm for Chinese medicine, intuitive nature and humble demeanor that hooked me as a forever client.

Being comfortable with and trusting a healthcare provider is essential, especially when dealing with deeply personal issues. My husband and I both first began seeing her for fertility care but continue to come for various things that have come up over the last couple of years.

We were able to get pregnant with her support and will absolutely continue working with her and her team at The Medicine Tree.

After referring multiple people to her for acupuncture, I have heard confirmation from them all that Liz is genuinely caring and considerate of each and every client’s unique needs. It is also very cool that they now have both an on-site nutritionist and IV therapy provider to make care more comprehensive, something of a wellness one stop shop. Convenient location. Comfortable clean rooms with HEPA filter air purifiers and never crowded. Also offers onsite Chinese herbal formulas and an array of supplements."

Patient Stories

"I started going to medicine tree when Liz had her office in Denver for muscle recovery during marathon training. I didn't know much about acupuncture so Liz took the time to educate me and really get to know me and my body.

After training Liz helped me have my second baby, we had tried for 2 years with no success, and with in a couple of months we had success.

To say she forever helped me and my family is an understatement and we are forever thankful. Liz goes above and beyond for her clients, she has taken the time to educate me on the benefits of acupuncture and continues to be my bodies advocate for healthy living! My mind and body are thankful!!!"
