Q & A With Our New Nutritional Therapist

Keri Schroeder has completed the Master’s program from the Nutrition Therapy Institute (NTI), worked as a Weight Loss Coach and Consultant at Ultimate Health, worked alongside a naturopathic doctor at Ponderosa Natural Medicine, and is the founder and owner of Ground and Grow Wellness! She now brings all of her knowledge and expertise to The Medicine Tree as our Nutritional Therapist.

We sat down with Keri to ask her some questions so that you can get to know her better:

Keri Schroeder Nutritional Therapist Golden Colorado

Q: What is your personal approach to the Nutritional Therapist field?

A: I believe in the innate wisdom and healing capacity of the human body.  Each person has his or her own bio-individuality, thus requiring a customized healing protocol.  There is no "one size fits all" approach.  It's important to listen to people, to really hear what they are dealing with, and to meet them where they are.  I work towards identifying the root cause of the issue, address imbalances in the body, and advise my clients on how to implement nutrition and lifestyle changes to improve overall health and well-being for long-lasting, life-changing results.  We get to choose what we eat, and that is the most powerful medicine of all.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about your career's journey to this point?

A: Before entering the world of nutrition I spent 13 years in corporate america working in media sales and research. Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Packaged Goods are by far the biggest industries.  Instead of being a part of the downward spiral we're facing with our modern day approach to health issues, I decided to become a part of the change movement.  My former career helped me understand the marketing and "bottom-line drivers" of today's food industry and this gives me a unique perspective as a Nutrition Therapist.  Being in the world of nutrition and helping my clients regain their power so they can heal themselves and escape a life of pharmaceutical drugs is so rewarding.  I love educating my clients and witnessing their breakthroughs.  Knowledge truly is power, and healing is absolutely possible.  In a world where many are frustrated with their health journey and conventional medicine, I feel blessed to be able to give my clients newfound hope that they can make a difference, things will get better, and they will live their best life!

Q: What do you think will be your largest contribution to The Medicine Tree? How do you view your involvement here?

A: Acupuncture, Chinese herbology, and nutrition therapy is truly a fabulous synergy that has a number of health benefits. Joining the clinic will give patients an added level of healing that will help them achieve their goals quicker and more effectively.  Nutrition and diet play an extremely important role in health and at all levels of a person's well-being.  With so much conflicting information out there, it can be a confusing road to navigate.  My goal is to educate and empower my client's so they have the necessary tools to make the changes they need to make and not have it be a scary, overwhelming process.
